Evocation of a thought

I don’t know why, but when I look at this image that I’d shot and manipulated, it reminds me of Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delight.

Actual Bosch’s

It’s an orgy of figures in an extraordinary contortion that needs to be focused and looked at in individual sections. Maybe it’s the colors in the image that evokes. It’s not that I shot the image aware of the painting, I just shot it because it was interesting to me. It is when I was editing when the evocation came. It’s pure madness and chaotic. Then it dawned on me that it is like the world we are living in right now. Madness and chaos. Or, is it that I’ve reached the age of reason? Was Bosch saying same thing? There’s no way for me to know. I can only guess from his work. Heaven, us, hell. Three panels that make up the work. The middle is Garden of Earthly Delight, us.

A mass of humans vying for attention with greed and self-satisfaction, us. A time in our history where the humanity has gotten to a breaking point to nowhere. We have no knowledge of where we are going, we are just like a flock of sheep led by a mad dog. Perhaps it was same for Bosch in his days. Which just proves that nothing has changed throughout the years. You live long enough, everything becomes familiar.

I like this photo!
