Usually, as people age, their bodies and minds seem to slow down together. When an older friend starts something new, the typical response is, "What are you trying to do at your age?!" They just ramble on with "Back in my day...", reminding everyone of their long-gone youth.
BOOM! CRASH!!!
You have the energy to reminisce about your youth, but no desire to actually live young?
Our education system taught us to work hard in our youth, and then travel the world and enjoy life when we’re old. Well, I seriously question how many people actually get to have that kind of retirement. How many countries can you really enjoy on a pension? Maybe a cheap package tour to Southeast Asia. A proper, fulfilling retirement seems out of reach for anyone except those who inherit generational wealth—the old money. And honestly, those born into wealth don’t wait until they’re old to travel. Why visit places in old age that you've been going to your whole life as a daily routine? They’d rather stay home, act like royalty, and enjoy being completely pampered!
As time passes, the body naturally ages. Even machines break down over time. But unless it’s diseased, the human brain stays forever young. See a pretty young woman, and your head still turns; a spark—or something like it—still ignites down below. No matter how old you get.
Seriously, education is a terrifying thing.
From the moment we are born to how we should die, a program is already laid out for us. Life 101. Everyone studies that course diligently, like the deaf and the blind. That's why everyone becomes identical when they grow old. For the geniuses pulling the strings, there's no better racket than this. Isn't it just too predictable?
To change the very framework you've spent your entire life studying and building?! Does that even make sense???
BOOM! CRASH!!!!
Yes, it makes perfect sense. We must change. You only live once.
If you’ve spent this much of your one and only life living by the rules others set for you, that’s enough. Shouldn’t you live by your own rules now? You have a lifetime of experience and know-how—isn't now the exact time to use it? Do you lack the courage? You have the pride to dwell on the past, but not the courage to change your future?
Have you ever seen a river stop flowing? It’s common sense that water rots if it doesn’t move. People are the same. If you don’t move, you die. If you don't change, you rot and die.
Born into an era of such wonderful change, we should be changing right along with it to live a truly human life. Why stay so stuffy, buried in the past? Feeling the present, feeding on hope, and living for the days ahead—isn't that the path to finding your true self?
My wife calls me Yeong-gam—a Korean word for 'old man.' So I told her, "I’m a man of Yeong-gam (inspiration), not an old man! Stop calling me an old man!"
You only live once. Live it with style!
